Romanesque style in Campidano territory
This is a tour which lets you discover the Romanesque buildings of the Campidano territory, in the villages of Uta, Villaspeciosa and Decimoputzu. Little Romanesque treasures, with differences in their plans, decorations and positions; they document the importance of this style all over the island, they keep artistic secrets, tell stories of crusader knights, French monks and connections with other Sardinian rituals. Moreover, they attest the profound faith which links their worships to the population of the three villages and which, for centuries, is reaffirmed with devotion every year. These are the churches of Santa Maria in Uta, San Platano in Villaspeciosa and San Giorgio in Decimoputzu. The tour includes the visit to the three churches, to appreciate the Romanesque art of the territory and pay attention to the stylistic differences between the three buildings.
